Sadly, I only learned today(24th May) of Dermot’s sudden passing two weeks ago and it was a real shock. Dermot was a great character, always full of fun but beneath all the laughter there was a keen sharp intelligence that kept you on your toes in any discussion. My condolences to Sheila and the boys and their families at this very sad time. Dermot will be remembered with great fondness by all who knew him.

I was very saddened to hear of the untimely passing of Dermot. He was always a pleasure to meet and I always enjoyed our conversations whenever I met him at Waterford RVO.

A quiet clever person when I knew him in castlesknock. But my best memories of him is on our 5 year reunions which he always went to. A droll character then with a deep political loyalty. Quick to outsmart the unwary. A farmer myself we had a lot in common and had many a great conversation on how to fix everything. Very sad to hear of his demise. Deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
