I am sending sympathy to Josephine and all the family at this sad time, the passing of Dermot. It was such an honour to have Dermot one month ago at the training of Presenters of Centering Prayer at Emmaus Retreat Centre in Dublin. There we saw Dermot enter into the training so well, although he was clearly not well. Cistercian Thomas Keating says, "When Centering Prayer reaches the full consent to our nothingness, and when the closeness of God becomes a permanent experience, it is, of course the perfect prearation for death". Dermot, accompanied by Josephine, had a mission when coming to the training, now we know what that was all about. Thank you Dermot, and may you rest in peace.
