Only hearing is now, very, very sad news. Dermot had trained with us (wudang Sanshou) for several years and was recognised by all as a thorough gentleman, and a capable and dedicated martial artist. A seriously brave man, who has fought pro rules sanda! {Chinese mma)
Not many have walked the walk, and he was justly proud of his achievement, but not half as proud as he was of his daughter, whom he spoke of fondly and frequently! My own, and the clubs deepest sympathy and condolances to Dermot's family. Shocking news! He will be sorely missed!

You were a good and decent person. May you rest in peace Dermot. Sincere condolences to all those who love you.

Dermot, I'll never forget you my Jackeen buddy. From the day I took you under my wing, I was proud of you. You overcame so much to be the fine man you became. You were one of life's good guys. Can't believe you're gone.
