I am saddened to hear of Dermot’s death. He was my boss for a number of years in Ulster Bank. His attention to detail and organisation truly mattered to him. We had good laughs about that. I have fond memories of his remarkable command of the English language and his ability to relate naturally to people of all ages. He was genuinely interested in people and endlessly interesting himself. He will be remembered with great respect. Sincere sympathies to Dermots’s family and his many friends.

Sending sympathy to all of Dermot's loved ones. Dermot was my boss in the late 1980s. I remember him with great fondness and all the fun he managed to inject into our working days.

I was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Dermot, especially as we had been in contact recently. In the course of our work in Ulster Bank we travelled the country. Incisive, energetic and always good humored, he introduced me to restaurants that I never knew existed and would not normally have ever frequented. I will greatly miss him.

So very sad to hear of Dermot's passing. Will remember the good times in the Bailey all those years ago and the many parties in Lad Lane. A long friendship. Happy times. Rest in peace.

While on relief staff back in late 75 worked briefly in Coolock where Dermot was in charge of the sub-office in Kilbarrack. A man of style & will always remember the iconic car he drove a beautiful Fiat 124 Special. It stood out big time.
