I was so very sorry to hear the sad news that Dermot had passed away. He spent a lot of time having wonderful adventures abroad and it's lovely to hear the impact he made on those he met on his travels. Like others have mentioned he had a wonderful wit which could lighten sombre times and he showed kindness to many in quiet ways. May he RIP.

My sincere condolences to the Morris family. Dermot and I were roommates in the mid nineties in Kaohsiung, back when we were still finding our way around Taiwan. He was a great friend who never forgot a birthday and knew everyone’s phone number back when we had to. We didn’t have a TV, but we had this huge fish tank with this fresh water shark that kept us entertained. Dermot amazed me by the number of friends he had who all genuinely cared for him. I’ll always look back fondly on those years we spent together as young men. I miss you, Brother.

Dermot saw me out cycling with a puncture up Howth hill few years ago on a wet evening , recognised me through all the cycling gear !! and brought me and my bike home ! Some of my most cherished memories are from our time together in Taiwan and how he lit up every room with his confidence and humor.

After Dermo returned to Ireland, we remained true friend's, and he would make me laugh across continents. Dermo's warmth, loyalty, and zest for life left a lasting mark on me.

I’ll always remember Dermo as a truly wonderful man—someone who made the world brighter for being it in. Dermo's memory will continue to be cherished by so many, including me.

I'm so sad that I couldn't be better at the Funeral. I have great memories of living with Dermot in Baldoyle and meeting all the family. From listening to the eulogies today, we are sorry we never knew Dermot, only through talk from Noel. He sounded like a man who knew how to live. Dermot, my old and dear friend, you will be greatly missed. We first met in San Francisco back in 1987 or so and remained friends for 38 years. I was so glad that you got to meet my son Shane in Dublin in 2023, along with our mutual friend, John Erraught. Shane thoroughly enjoyed that afternoon and talks about how funny he thought you were and how much he enjoyed that afternoon. You were one of a kind my old pal. May you rest in peace. I know the unbelievable gratitude my partner felt from dermot when moving to baldoyle, and i also over the years enjoyed his gracious self with even offering to mind our two boys for a night to ourselves etc, absolute gentleman. Then we moved and i found myself with nowhere to stay and he helped so much with giving me accommodation with himself, and then i really laughed and lived with him and talked and learned and experienced him and REALLY became close. Truly a beautiful man who I'll miss greatly 😢
