Dear Mary and O'Donoghue family, so sorry to hear of the loss of Dermot, he was a kind, generous intelligent man, of the best kind. Love Seana and Leo Kevany
I was very sad to hear of Dermot’s untimely and sudden passing. I had the pleasure and privilege of working for him in the mid ‘80’s. He had a wonderful sense of humour, often self depreciating despite his senior position at the time, and always supportive and kind when it mattered most. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word. Reading the previous messages of condolences, it seems I wasn’t the only person whose memories and experiences of him were so positive and heart warming. May his gentle soul rest in peace. My sincerest sympathy to his wife and extended family at this sad time. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Sincere condolences to the O'Donoghue family on Dermot's passing.

To Mary and the extended O’Donoghue family, Mary and I were shocked to learn of Dermot’s illness and then his sudden passing. Unfortunately we were away for the funeral but we were thinking of Dermot and you all on the day. He was a terrific guy, a consummate professional and a really good friend who was so helpful to me when settling into Old Jewry in the early 80’s. I will never forget his honesty, loyalty to his colleagues and comradeship. He had a great sense of humour and we shared many laughs together. We hope the happy memories that you shared with him will help to sustain you through this very sad time in your lives. John & Mary Wilkinson

Sincere condolences Mary & family. We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Dermot's sudden passing. Our thoughts are with you all. May he rest in peace.
When we moved into Killiney just over 13 years ago Dermot and Mary were our neighbours. They couldn't have been more welcoming and Dermot's warmth, kindness, easy charm and generosity were a big part of our settling in. In more recent years it's always been a pleasure to see him in Dalkey, out with the dogs or lurking happily in a corner of Finnegan's.... which is where I actually looked for him last Saturday. A day was always brighter when you met Dermot, and learning of his passing was a terrible shock.

Our Sincere sympathies to Mary and family on your untimely loss - Dermot still had lots to do - but hopefully the affection, admiration and respect which shines through these condolences from so many people over so many years is some small comfort at this sad time. RIP.
