Apart from those i already knew on the lane Dermot was the first neighbour i met, he was so gentle, kind and welcoming i enjoyed our chats be they on the lane while walking the dog or at the field while the kids trained - he was there hail rain or snow in his overalls supervising the action. He will be sorely missed, rest in peace Dermot.

Dermot has been such a good friend to our family over so many decades. Coming in for a chat on a Sunday evening to Cornhill, bringing us to matches when we were kids grown up and being so supportive to us during difficult and challenging times. He lived a good life and he is fondly remembered. May he rest in peace.
