I had the privilege of knowing Derry both from the golf course and by working occasionally with Derry.

He was always a pleasure to deal with , spend time with and always great fun.

I loved golfing with him as he was fabulous company along with being a fantastic golfer. I am delighted to say the last time I golfed with Derry he played brilliantly and was his usual cheeky fun and talented self. Fota will be the poorer without him. A wonderful clubman as well as a fabulous golfer.

He will be sadly missed.

To Margaret and family, I’m very saddened to hear of Derry’s passing today. Great memories of Derry when he had the shop in Fermoy and I was privileged that he took me on my first trip to Old Trafford many moons ago now! He’d be smiling today. May he rest in peace. In my thoughts at this sad time.
