Please accept my deep sympathy on the loss of Derry, Billie. I have lovely memories of going to the theatre with Paddy to see this great actor on Opening Nights courtesy of yourself. Thinking of you at this sad time.
I worked with Derry a couple of times as an actor and always felt the better for sharing time with him. He embodied that special combination of both talent and decency. I was delighted to hear David say in his eulogy that his dad had no regrets and had lived a happy satisfying life. I hope I can say the same. Condolences to all the family.
I offer the extended Power Family in Youghal and Dun Laoghaire my most heartfelt condolences upon the recent passing of Derry in early September. He brought great joy to so many people with his performances for the BBC and The Abbey and his numerous film appearances as well.
I am sorry for not being able to make the funeral in Foxrock Church when it took place. Derry certainly set a high standard for many Irish and British actors who followed in his footsteps afterwards.
Ní bheidh a leitheid arís ann!
Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam!

Well done to Derry on all that he achieved on film and stage.
His name was spoken with admiration and a hint of mystique in our home, as being a movie actor seemed to be the remit of Hollywood, especially in the 60's.
My sincere condolences to his family, friends and the acting community he worked with.

Billie, Michelle, David and your extended family, our deepest sympathies to you all on the loss of your beloved Derry.
Derry first met our mum, Bairbre, as a very young actor in the ‘Pilgrim Players’ when she was 14 and Derry was only 17years old. Derry went on to introduce mum to our late dad Frank, in a production of ‘St. Joan of the Stockyard’ in the Gaiety during the 1964 Dublin Theatre Festival. Mum and dad remained firm friends of Derry and Billie throughout their lives. Such wonderful memories of Derrys warmth, kindness and laughter and his unwavering love of Billie. May he rest in peace.
