I am desperately sad to have lost my dear friend Dervila of more than 50 years. She was a great character, full of life and fun. She was loyal and always helpful to her friends. We shared so many memories together. My condolences to her family and many friends. May she Rest In Peace

I was so saddened to hear sudden passing of Dervila 💕
Such kind lady I was lucky to call friend.
Even when I moved I would call we had so many light hearted conversations girls would call doing their thing for Halloween many other special times 🎃

It was with great sadness that I learned of Dervila's death on Thursday last. I first met her well over thirty years ago. Many things I recall about her such as her very genuine and sincere character, her capacity to be brave and smile whatever challenge she was dealing with and above all her great sense of welcome and hospitality. To all her family, to all who were part of her life in any way and to her many friends my sincere sympathy. Rest in Peace, dear Dervila.

In my prior condolence I omitted to mention that Dervilla, on hearing of Ms. Stafford’s death, travelled down to the Church of Holy Trinity Without, Ballybricken, Waterford and up to the choir gallery, to sing with her friends in the choir, at the funeral mass and we were all delighted to have her with us. What a loyal friend.

My deepest sympathy to all of Dervila’s family. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Whatever conversation we may be having, putting the world to rights etc, her ability to drop a one liner followed by a pause never failed to raise laughter and put a good perspective on things. She had a wonderful outlook on life and it was always with a glint in her eye that I will never forget.🙂 I am very fortunate and grateful to have known your Mam and I will cherish the memories.

I am very sad, to hear of Dervila passing , she was a lovely, wonderful, thoughtful, funny, and kind person . I had the pleasure of being her colleague and friend for many years. She was a great listener and always gave good advise when needed . When I think of Dervila, I can’t help but smile at the memories of her stories and the laughter we shared in Dungarvan (when she visited Mary B) and also while on holidays in Spain.
