I am sad to hear of Aunt Dervilla's passing. I have fond memories of visiting with the family as a child and also as a young adult when she introduced me to the hot toddy as a cure to a miserable cold! She was a strong and brilliant woman and dedicated mother. May she rest in peace with those family that have passed before her.
Warmest regards,
Sheila
I am sorry to hear of your sisters passing Aongus. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Dear Niamh, Oisin,,Aisling, Emer, Lara. Aongus,
It is hard to give you all a hug from across the Atlantic, but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and hearts. As Dervilla's namesake I have a special sadness today. She was a lovely aunt, funny and optimistic, loving and brilliant. As I read the condolences from others, I am struck by her students who clearly loved her. We have lost a beautiful lady.

I speak for the rest of the American family when I say we share your sadness. Love from Cairbre, Eithne, Una, Sheila, Sean, and myself.

Only last week in the company of some Newparkers the comment was passed that” Mrs Henry always had a soft spot for me, in fact I probably had the wool pulled over her eyes “I hadn’t . No one could .have... she just chose to see the best in me ,had a laugh and always encouraged me to keep going. She was when I look back my ;Newpark mammy and always said life would work out for me Well it has, after a few winding roads and steep climbs I’m here ,happy with my lot .
I am truly sorry and saddened to here of Dervillas passing and send my condolences to all the family.

I have so many memories of Dervilla......She was my Irish teacher at Newpark, trying to get us all interested in reading about Peig! I lived around the corner from the Henrys on Belgrave Terrace, and as a young teenager used to babysit for her kids sometimes. She was quite the woman, and I am very lucky to have known her.

My condolences to her family.
