So sorry to hear of Des’s passing fond memories of many wonderful golf games and some not as wonderful! but fun none the less . Always a lovely generous man to be around.

Condolences to the extended Barry from myself and colleagues in J Barry Cork Office . He was a supporter of our efforts down the years and kept a guiding hand on the tiller. I tried to remind him of his Munster Roots on a few occasions but he was having none of it. He was a formidable golfer with an extended PIng club in his hands too.

It was with great sadness and a sense of loss that I learned about Des’ passing. Not only was he a great man, but one that I would consider a great friend and I feel honoured that I had the opportunity to know him both professionally and personally. Professionally, Des was utterly brilliant in his chosen profession as an Engineer, and I worked with him closely during our involvement as members of the Task Group for the development of the FIDIC Gold Book Conditions of Contract for DBO Projects. On a more personal level, Des was a gentleman in every sense of the word, and I imagine that sentiment would be echoed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him

It was a pleasure to spend time with Des on his visits to Dubai. Condolences to Tom, Jacqui, Ross and all the family. May he RIP
