Sincerest condolences we extend to his beloved wife Olive and the entire Smyth family on the sad passing of Des a very talented Navan musician and an absolute gentleman. A lot of the younger generation in Navan probably do not know who Des Smyth was, but he was a member of the fantastic Smyth family dynasty who have entertained Navan audiences with their music over many decades. Older generations will recall Des fronting the famous old Arcadian showband jn the old C.Y.M.S. hall to packed crowds that had the place rocking and rolling. So let us not be sad but rememer with joy the wonderful memories we have of the musical talent he had. Rest in eternal peace Des but continue to keep the heavens rocking with your wonderful music.
