So sorry to hear about the passing of Des. I hope family and friends can take some comfort in the many years you had with him and in all the memories you shared. May those memories stay with you and bring you peace and strength in the days ahead. My condolences to the family during this difficult time.

Sending love to you all on this sad occasion. Des was a wonderful character who brought so much warmth and humour to the world. And he was a beloved brother of my Granny Maureen, she often shared lovely stories of them growing up together in Dublin and on holidays in Rush. Hopefully they are reunited now and smiling down reminiscing. May he rest in peace.

Des was sadly missed in St Josephs Pastoral Centre after he was unable to attend daily Mass and come in for a coffee after each day. He was such fun,a great mixer ,and loved his retirement in Glasthule/Sandycove where he was well known and loved. Even in Altadore Nursing Home where he retired to when Fr Billy RIP was there, he was still full of fun and a joy to meet. May he rest in peace.

Deepest sympathy to all his family. Des was a lovely, lovely man whom I remember with great affection in St Joseph’s parish, Glasthule. Always smiling and always positive in spite of his declining years. RIP Des
