Lord have mercy on Des’s soul. He was a gentleman and a great encourager of young people. We enjoyed serving him in Lahinch for over fifty years. My mother Phil said that even in his younger days, Des would always offer her a dance in Limerick and was very gallant and dapper. We will miss him and treasure his memory. He lit up the room when he entered and you were always the better for meeting him . A man of true class and his family likewise. At dheis De go raubh se.
The great man is gone to his home in Heaven. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
