I am so sorry to have been abroad and missed the funeral. Des was a great friend and supporter. He was also very supportive to both my faher and mother in the wake of the Presidential election. Much remembered for this and his utter gentlemanly ways. Many memories. Always good company. My sympathies to Fran, Damian and of course the wider family.

We were very sad to hear of Des’s death. Very fond memories of a wonderful kind, caring & thoughtful man who always smiled. A true friend to Gerard. I had many dealings with Des in his time on the board of Aer Lingus. He was always courteous, helpful, professional, ready with sound advice and always had the good of the business at heart. Above all I remember him as great company. My deepest sympathies to all those closest to him.
