Dear Brendan and Margaret
Desmond use to call to my door on Heytesbury Street and we would have a chat and I would give him money for a cup of tea. I am extremely sad to hear of his death. A woman knocked on my door to tell me as she often saw Desmond call. Desmond was a most interesting person for whom life did not necessarily deal a good hand. On behalf of myself and my family I would like to offer our condolences to you on Desmond's death. If I had known even an hour earlier I could have been there in person to extend a hand of sympathy.
