To Kathleen and all my cousins (Richard, John, Anna, Paul, Mary and Bobby) and your families, sending my sympathy on Dessie's death. My first contact with him was likely the swift bike crossbar to Mass on Sundays, probably had to walk home to Oldcourt as it was a one-way-ticket only to MKB, and there was no going back once his sight had by then been properly focused . Your family home at Millbank was such a safe haven on Saturday's away from the stones and arrows the town's two Grim Brothers took pleasure in administering to a specy four-eyes in from the county to do the weekly shop taking lodgment at Ulster Bank. Rest in peace Dessie!

I have very fond memories of Dessie and Kathleen living in the Millbank, and Dessie's fearless exploits in goal for the Kilbride senior football team which was scary to me as a young frightened child. For as long as I can remember Dessie was always ever so friendly while making a comical greeting with his characteristic smile. He will now be joining my mother Kit in heaven, his first cousin once removed, where they will no doubt enjoy each other's company as they always seemed to have a sweet spot for each other ❤️ R.I.P Dessie and thank you for the memories.
