To Mona, Deirdre, Hugh, Anne, Marian, and the extended family,

I was so sorry to hear about Dessie’s passing. He was more than just a neighbour, he was a source of kindness in our Marino community. I fondly remember the countless hours he dedicated to coaching me and my peers at the Marino Athletic Club. His unwavering support and enthusiastic guidance not only shaped our love of athletics but also enriched our childhoods, creating unforgettable memories filled with laughter, lessons, and friendships. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

To Mona & family please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your wonderful Des. He was such a lovely man, always with a kind word and a smile. He brightened up my day when I would meet him. You were both great neighbours to my parents and I appreciate your kindness to them. May Des rest in peace.

We were very saddened to hear of Dessie's death. He did so much for a whole generation of young people in Marino, giving his time to the running club and to the holidays in Coolure House. Marino has lost another wonderful "community" person.
