I live in Brisbane Queensland a long way from Dundalk and all my relatives and friends including the late Dessie Morgan.

It is with great sadness that I have learned of Dessie's passing. He became a very good friend of mine through my frequent visits to my cousin Canice and his wife Eilish O'Mahony. I will always remember his humour, kindness and generosity. My thoughts and prayers are with his family - may he rest in peace.

Very sad at our Uncle Dessie's passing. For five decades he contributed significantly to the engineering success of County Louth and its surrounding counties. His end of Priorland Dundalk, the site of his home and engineering works, will never feel the same again.

Uncle Dessie was always welcoming whenever we would visit Dundalk. He loved to have a chat about life, catching up on what was going on with us. It's hard to believe that the only time he held a passport, the only time he left Ireland even, was when our dad, Fra passed away. I wish we could have been there for you today, Uncle Dessie. May you rest in peace.
