My most sincere condolences to Diarmaids family on his sudden passing. I worked with Diarmaid for a few years in Kildare. Diarmaid was a very kind man, and quietly supported others through difficult times. His love for Trish was very evident, he was broken hearted at her passing. Now they are reunited. Diarmaid was always upbeat, he loved his golf and lived his life to the full. It was a pleasure and a privilege to know and work with him.

Many a pint we had in Castlewarden. Maynooth half way between Leixlip and Kilcock.We solved all the worlds problems. You always said my golf would get better,it never did ,as the song goes 'you never know what you got till its gone'

We had the honour of serving on committee with Diarmaid in Castlewarden Golf Club, for many years since 1990. Diarmaid's commitment to the Club was astonishing, no member made a bigger contribution to the development, and success, of the Club than he did. He will be missed greatly by us all in Castlewarden.

RIP Diarmaid

It is with immense sadness and shock that we learned of the death of Diarmaid
Past President, Captain, Trustee and chairman of the course committee and many other committees at Castlewarden Golf Club

A founding and much-loved member his vision, creativity and craftsmanship along with his various course committees are evident throughout the course. His dedication helped shape and influence, not only the layout and development of the club, but also the spirit and camaraderie that define it today.

As a former President and Captain, Diarmaid played a central role in advancing the many improvements to the course and facilities. His leadership, commitment and generosity of time left a lasting mark on the club and its members.

Diarmaid’s memory and presence will live on in the fairways he helped shape and in the club he helped build.

On behalf of the men’s members we extend our deepest condolences to Diarmaid’s family.

Like many, I was shocked at Diarmuid's untimely passing, a cruel end to a life well lived. I first met Diarmuid in 1983, early in our careers in the Community Welfare Service and was lucky to have also worked with him in the period before his retirement. He was constant in his good form, love of gallows humour and inherent care and decency. Many quiet acts of professional and personal kindness went unnoticed and he never sought recognition or thanks. Unfortunately, I am in Spain and will miss the funeral but we lit a candle in San Domingo church in Cartagena today and spent a while in quiet reflection thinking of a good man, gone too soon. Deepest sympathy to all of Diarmuid's family and friends. May he rest in eternal peace.
