Diarmaid (Willie) FAWSITT

Sincere condolences to Ann , Seán, Jane and Robert. Willie would regularly reduce us to tears of laughter when he would call to our house when I was growing up. He is still one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He was such a gentleman also. Dad spoke of him so often growing up, of the craic they had at UCC and of visits to West Cork. I wish to express my deepest and most sincere condolences to Diana, Pat & the extended Fawsitt family on their recent sad bereavement. Eternal rest grant unto the soul of Diarmaid, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.

While unfortunately I didn't come to know Willie well he always came across as a gentleman. I live in NZ now and I was very sorry to hear of his passing. An absolute Gent , always a wave and a smile to the Reception team in the Law Library a pleasure to have been of assistance , he will be sadly missed .

So so saddened to hear of Willie's passing. He was great colleague and a regular participant in the Bar Tennis Competition and I was so fortunate to be paired with him one year. Together we battled to reach the final and his positivity and commitment throughout were remarkable. He even played 6 matches in 48 hours in finals week so that he wouldn't let anyone down! Willie, it's time to give your own lovely phrase back to you ... "Ah...you were some man for one man!"
