Diarmuid (Derry) O'HEGARTY

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news of Derry's death, as will so many and from so many different walks of life, such was his wide range of interests. Our lives touched over many years through forestry and aside from enjoying his company immensely, I benefited a great deal from his knowledge and insight. My sincere condolences to the O'Hegarty family. RIP

Our sincere condolences to the O'Hegarty family at this difficult time. Derry was a true gentleman with many interests amongst which was a keen interest in forestry. He gave most generously of his time and expertise to the sector over many years serving on the Irish Timber Grower's Association committee and other forestry organisations. Derry made a most significant contribution which reflected his personal kindness and he will be sadly missed by us all. May he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear of Derry’s death during these weirdest of times. Condolences to all of the family and his friends. I am part of a band of ex-Presidents of the Institute of Taxation who meet once a year of which Derry was a select member. He was always curious and enthusiastically interested in a wide range of topics which made him good company. I know he was proud of the huge contribution he made to the Institute over a lifetime and the organisation it has now become. SK

Grainne, Michael, Diurmuid and Kieran - my sincere sympathy to you all on the recent death of your Dad, Derry. He was such a gentleman and a great Dad. I got to know Derry and Frances very well through Barry as we worked together for a few years before Barry's tragic death. Over the years we kept in touch and then more recently Derry joined Dara Choir and it was great to see him again week by week. And then the choir visited Our Lady's Manor a few times and it was great to sing for him and the other residents. This is a very sad time for all the family in these unusual times : you are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May he rest in peace. Derek Verso
