A great colleague and wonderful character. May he rest in peace.

My sincerest condolences to Diarmuid's family and friends on the passing of such a lovely, kind and intelligent man. He was a friend not only of myself, but also of my late father, Andy Curneen, going back to the sixties. He helped out numerous of our clients with planning matters promptly and efficiently with courtesy and a smile. He was one of life's gentlemen and will be missed by me, Barry Murray, and our clients that he helped.

I always appreciated Diarmuid’s well considered advice and encouragement.

On behalf of the Elderberry ward, I would like to express my deepest condolences to all of the Herlihy family on the passing of Diarmuid. He was a gentleman who we always enjoyed having a chat with. Such a kind and intelligent man and he will be remembered fondly by all of us here and we will be thinking of you all over Christmas.

Words cannot express how wonderful I thought D was. He was such a character, full of life and messing, constantly grumbling yet kind to a fault. I was so lucky to have known him and been able to call him a friend.
D was the biggest chancer that I have ever known - pursuing his dream of the 'big time' with endless ambition, yet inevitably it fell short. D always would dust him self down and get up and try, and try and try again! His resilience and spirit was incredible.
D was so fiercely proud of you all and would fill me in on your lives with such passion when I would see him. Over the years he would fret that he was not good enough as a father, when it was clear to me to see that you all adored him. I saw his increasing distress this year at his failing health and so I am so grateful that he is at peace now.
I have so many rich memories from over the years, which will continue to make me smile. While I could not get to the church this morning, I watched online: D would have loved his send off, it was a beautiful service. Rest easy Diarmuid. Much love to you all, Soma

Worked in Diarmuids Dundrum office back in the 90s. He was a great character so quick to laugh, loved to chat and very generous towards staff. Always conjuring up the next big project ! Such fond fun memories of him. He will be missed. My condolences to all his family and friends.
