Diarmuid Hickey

We were in the same class in school, and did our teacher training together. He was always positive and inclusive and effortlessly funny. Condolences to his wife and family, to all the Hickeys, and to his colleagues. He will be sadly missed. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam.

Sincere condolences to Diarmuid’s family, colleagues, school community and friends. Diarmuid was an amazing man who made a lasting impact on my child through his kindness, compassion and patience. I have no doubt he did the same for many more.

Deepest sympathies to all the Hickey family on their heartbreaking loss. Mr Hickey was a pure gent. Nobody had a bad word to say about Mr Hickey despite being vice principal for all those years. That's just a testament to him as a person. Admired and respected by pupils and teachers alike. He will be sorely missed.

Mr.Hickey was everything a teacher should be. He had a passion for his subjects, he was a committed hardworking advocate for all students. He saw the best in everyone. It has been a privilege to have had him integral to our children's education both as teacher and deputy principal. His influence will live long into the future.
