My sincere condolences to the family. I only knew Diarmuid from Ros na Run but he made the character of Seamus so real, I think there is a Seamus in every small village in Ireland, I know we certainly have one! So thank you Diarmuid for bringing us a touch of reality & familiarity every week. Slan abhaile.

It is with a broken heart that we heard of the death of Diarmuid. He was the light of our lives in Ros na Rún and the greatest TV personality to us and so many others, We are so full of admiration for him, he touched so many lives and will never be forgotten. Looking at the tributes so far it is obvious Diarmuid's humble attitude makes everyone love him even more. Being friendly and loyal, there needs to be more people like Diarmuid in this cruel world of competition.To all his family members although there is nothing that can ease the loss you're feeling now. Its hoped these words of sympathy will help to show you somehow the warmth and care that's felt for you by those who share your sorrow as precious memories will always remain with you at a time when words can say so little and hearts feel so much. Déanaim comhbhrón ó chroí le muintir Dhiarmada. Thug sé an oiread sin spraoi agus ábhar machnaimh dúinn agus é ag aisteoireacht i Ros na Rún. Déarfainn gur iomaí uair go raibh a script féin aige ann chomh maith!! Aireoimid uainn é go mór i Ros na Rún agus an Ghaeilge bhreá a bhí aige. ( Ní bheidh na mallachtaí móra sin le cloisteáil a thuilleadh, faraor.) Suaimhneas síorái i measc aingeal na hÉireann go raibh aige.

Bhí mé ag breathnú air ar feadh na mblianta agus anuraidh bhain mé an-taitneamh as tréimhse ag obair leis i Ros na Rún. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam!

Níom co-bhrón leis an teaghlach agus cairde Dhiarmuid. I know I only know him from Ros na Rún but he had touched so many hearts. He was a brilliant actor and brilliant at furniture making too I believe. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. Ní bheith a leathaid ann arís.
