Sincere condolences to the Mallet family. Very fond memories of Dick in the Wishing Well in the 80s & 90s. RIP
A lovely friendly gardener who I knew from his days in RHSI Russborough. I learned lots from Dick and enjoyed his company. Always had a twinkle in his eye. Rest easy, Dick and thank you. Condolences to your family.
As President of Avoca H.C.in the 70s Dick reckonised the necessity to bring in outside Coaching Staff to nurture the existing Talent and He also ensured that this Staff received whatever Financial backing they felt was necessary to run the 1St Team on a par with the other Leinster Clubs . This foresight was instrumental in paving the way to the Successes of the 80s and 90s . Rest in Peace DICK
My Condolences to the Mallett Family on the passing of Dick.

May He Rest in Peace.

Very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. A truly lovely man. My sympathy to June, Peter and all the family.
Hi Peter, you might remember me from St Andrews away way back. I was so sorry to hear about your Dad. Pls accept my condolences at this sad time. Jay Holland
Dick played a huge part in the development, and success of, Avoca Hockey Club over many decades.
His enthusiasm, dedication and wit were infectious.
I am glad I played hockey with Dick rather than against him as not much got passed him.
RIP Dick and thank you for the memories.
My sincere sympathy to June, Peter, and their families on the death of Dick, a much beloved father and grandfather of whom I have great memories of many long chats on RHSI trips in Ireland and overseas. I am confident that Dick now enjoys unity with the Divine, as promised by Jesus to his followers. God bless, Con
I am very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He was treasurer of the Leinster Branch for many years, including during my time as President, and was as tough as old boots with clubs who transgressed, issuing fines to beat the band, though always in good spirit. Another side to Dick was evident when he invited me to see his magnificent garden when his love of horticulture and nature was to the fore. I often think of him as a unique and charming figure. May he rest in peace.
Such a lovely gentleman
Enjoyed his company and knowledge on many of the Rhsi garden tours
Rest in the gardens of heaven where your knowledge and enthusiasm will be enjoyed
Sincere sympathy to all of Dick’s family and friends! I always enjoyed Dick’s company on garden tours with the RHSI … a real gentleman… he will be missed! RIP Dick!
On behalf of the Board of Leinster Hockey, we wish to express our deepest sympathies on Dick's passing. Dick was a stalwart of the game in Leinster and served for many years as Treasurer to the Branch. May he rest in peace.
A truly gorgeous man, such fond memories of him in the Wishing Well every Saturday with his buddies and having lovely chats with him. He will be missed, a true gentle man. Thinking of his family at this very sad time.
On behalf of Avoca Hockey Club we would just like to pass on our deepest condolences on the loss of Dick. A true club stalwart who was one of the clubs longest playing members. From his schooldays in Avoca to being president of the club and overseeing their first senior cup win. He also gave up his time to the Leinster branch where he was treasurer for many years. Dick also won an Irish senior cup medal while studying in Trinity. He will be truly missed, a lovely man.
Memories of Avoca Hockey Club and of a fine gentleman and a tenacious defender...May he rest in peace and his family find consolation.
Condolences to June Peter and all of Dick's family on the passing of your loving Dad and grandad. I have fond memories of Dick. May her rest in peace now in the beautiful garden in heaven.
So sorry June and family to hear of your dads passing.... He was a gentleman. Always a kind word for me in my 'Dun Laoghaire days'!
Thinking of you all as he now joins his beloved Daphne.
May they both rest in peace
My sincere condolences and sympathy to all the family on your loss. I have the fondest memories of time spent with Dick especially on RHSI Tours over 30 years.
