Dina Ryan

I only learned recently of Dina's passing. I was so sad to hear this. I have many happy memories of playing with her in various orchestras and ensembles in Dublin over the years. She was always very friendly and welcoming. And a fine musician too.

So sorry to hear of dina passing I used to pal with her and the o Connor girls when I was a kid. Very sad Such a lovely girl thinking of her family at this time xx

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dina's passing. I have fond memories of her from our time together at DIT Conservatory. One would always feel a bit lighter after seeing and chatting to Dina, she was truly a breath of fresh air. She will be missed even by those who only knew her in passing. My deepest condolences to all of her friends and family.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Dina. I spent a wonderful and enjoyable 9-months working alongside Dina in the National Folklore Collection, UCD. She was so caring, generous, fun and compassionate and me being very shy, she really drew me out of my shell and filled me with confidence going forward. We shared an endless enthusiasm for our interests and hobbies and although they may have differed in some areas, she was always curious and engaging no matter the subject, an all-round positive person to be with. May I extend my sincere sympathies to Dina’s family, partner and all her friends to whom have been so fortunate to have been touched by her during her lifetime. May she rest in peace.

Dear Ryan family, I knew Dina from secondary school. She was such a kind and funny person who always had time for everyone. Although we hadn't spoken in years I was in touch with her when I heard she wasn't well. She was still so kind, so thoughtful, full of chat. I am so so sorry for your loss. Dina was one of the gentlest and most beautiful people I have ever had the privilege to meet. A wonderful musician and a talented artist who gave so much to everyone she met and worked with. May she rest in peace.

It is with great sadness that the Dublin Symphony Orchestra has heard of the passing of beautiful, talented Dina. She was a very treasured clarinet player in the orchestra for a few years.

Please accept my sincere condolences. I played saxophone with Dina in the UCD Symphony Orchestra and in the Wiz. She was so kind, bubbly and warm - a pleasure to know and make music with.

I had the honour of playing clarinet with her in the Dublin Symphony Orchestra. She was the most beautiful soul I’ve ever met, an extremely accomplished musician and so passionate about life. She’ll be hugely missed. Rest in peace, Dina.

Dina was a an incredibly kind, patient and inspiring teacher and a truly lovely person to chat to over a cup of tea in the staff room. She will be sorely missed by all the school community and my most sincere sympathies to Dina’s family, partner, friends and all those who loved her.

Dina was a remarkable individual and musician. Her kindness and smile always brightened my day. It was a privilege to study alongside her.

Dina had the kindest heart, a beautiful smile and great sense of humour. She fought a brave battle and may she be at peace now. Our deepest sympathies to her parents, sisters and partner Mark.

Dina was the most inspiring and caring teacher. She fostered a love of music in so many of her Clarinet and Saxophone students in our school. They absolutely adored their lessons with Dina. A wonderful colleague who will be sadly missed from all at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Grammar School. May she rest in peace.
