Sincere Sympathy To Joseph, Tara, The Keane Family and Extended Families on the passing of Dolores. She was a beautiful singer. All age groups love listening to her. There was a beautiful piece on the RTE News that evening of the funeral. Then at the end of it they showed the Sun going down on Galway Bay which was so lovely. We watched the funeral it was a lovely tribute to her and the music was so nice. Liam knows Joseph from when they went to St. Joseph's School years ago in Galway. They are friends since and he knows James also from the School as well.

Dolores, transported us all, to another level with her haunting voice and her beautiful singing. It moved us all, outside ourselves.
I never had the privilege of meeting Dolores, but I did get to see her sing a number of times.
When my mother was dying, back in 2014, the CD in the car, which I played was Solid Ground and the song which I played over and over at that time was:
"Never Be The Sun"
Dolores, helped me in some way to get through that difficult time.


When Dolores sang, we could see into her soul and she carried her craft and her wonderful singing ability, so lightly. Always interested in people and so humble in the way she lived her life.

To Joseph, Tara, Colin and all the extended Keane family and all her close friends and neighbours,
Thanks for sharing the gift of Dolores with the rest of us, so willingly.
There will be a special place in heaven for her, with the angels.

It must be all of 52 years since I first saw a young Dolores Keane sing live, in Toonagh Hall on the outskirts of Ennis in the early 1970s. I have seen her many times since then and Dolores was the same girl at that time as the lady who appeared on the Tommy Tiernan Show recently. She was always sincere, kind, good humoured and true to her language and her birthplace.
My sincerest condolences to the Keane family, to her son, daughter and grandchildren, sister and brothers, who had a huge hand in making her a superstar. Dolores meant the world to so many people and I hope she realised it before she left this world. She had her own rich Galway accent and proudly vocalised the music in both languages. Dolores was a beautiful person and I am so happy for having met her on the many occasions since the 70s. May God reward her greatness now and give her family comfort.
