Sincerest condolences to Moira and Martin and to the extended Finnegan and Brady families. I was so sad to hear of DP's passing. My thoughts are with you at this tough time and in the times ahead.

I first met DP when I was 6 years old and he about 10 years old, when I moved schools to Mullinaghta. I'll never forget how kind and welcoming he was to the new kid in the school.

That kind and considerate 10 year old grew up to be and equally kind and considerate adult. It was always such a pleasure to pop into the Post Office and have a chat with him. He'd have all the local news, and never an unkind word to say about anybody.

He had a great sense of humour which we all enjoyed. These qualities made him really popular in school.
