Very saddened to hear of the passing of Don in Brisbane. My sister always spoke so highly of him. Sincere condolences to his wife and children; his dad Denis who played such an important role in our lives as school kids; his mum and siblings and his wider family.

We are deeply saddened and shocked to hear of the passing of Denis. I worked with Denis in Brisbane at AE Smith. Denis was an absolute gentleman and it was always a pleasure to work with him or to enjoy his company & good humour over a couple of beers. Our deepest condolences to his wife and children and all of his extended family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, from Vinny Corbett & family France.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Don’s passing. I have fond memories of our time together at CIT. Don was always a standout—bright, driven, and with a laid-back charm that made him a joy to be around. He had a knack for knowing what he wanted, yet he never lost that easygoing nature that made him such great company. I remember our good times in college fondly, and it’s clear that Don made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

My deepest sympathy to Lauren, Freddie and Darcy and all of Don and Lauren's family. Don was an absolutely outstanding person and one that will be sadly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

I was lucky to meet Don in college studying engineering in CIT. I really got to know Don properly when I moved to Brisbane and lived with him in Baroona road. Don is the most disciplined man I know implementing the bed time routine at precisely 8.30pm, ironing shirts, while also preparing the same bland ham and cheese sandwiches he ate everyday. Don was always great fun to be around... except when Arsenal lost a football match.

Everyone who met Don got on with him immediately, Don is genuinely one of the soundest people I ever met and he was always up for adventure, travel and the craic. We shared countless mountain biking adventures, trips overseas, a one and only dirt biking adventure and an April fool dirt bike robbery that will never be forgotten.

Working with Don in Promech I remember so many days crying with the laughter over the silliest childish most stupid stuff. Don had an infectious laugh that always had the ability to set me off.

Don's courage and strength over the last couple of years has been an inspiration he was always a man of tremendous grit and determination.

Don has a large and amazing group of friends and family who love him dearly which is testament to the person he was. He'll be sorely missed by us all.

Don was an absolute gentleman and a loveable rogue in equal measures. I had the pleasure of sharing some great times with him during our college years and a few more afterwards.

Always up to something but not a bad bone in his body - he was fantastic company and his family should be very proud of the man he was.

Don as you know was great and a much loved guy. Knowing him since our school days he was a very funny and sincere guy. He was a credit to his parents and family.

The last few days I was remembering him during our school days playing every and all type of sports. And the funny incidents we got into. Going up to Dublin to watch soccer matches in a van, to rugby matches. To traveling with the usually lads from school to new places. To going to Brisbane to start a new life there.

Lauren, I Don't know how you and Don went through the last two years. The two of you have battle through this awful illness. The only bit of light during this dark time are the two wonderful boys you and Don have. No doubt will grow up like their Dad. And the memories the two of you made

Remember we are all thinking of you during this awful time. And will always be here if and when you need it.
