We as a family offer our sincere condolences and love to you all on the passing of Donal, we only found out last weekend this had happened otherwise we would have been in touch. We have nothing but good memories of a fine gentleman and hope we can honour his memory soon with you all in Cork. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Donie was a road captain for The Green Group. When we were all beginners Donie looked after all of us, encouraged us and nurtured a sense of great comraderie and team spirit.

When Donie turned up you instantly knew that he was going to mind you. If you were having an off day on the bike you'd never be left behind, he waited for you and shepherded every one of us all around the east cork hills.

Donie brought the banter, and the positivity even on a rainy day. He would always say "just peddle away there, we are in no rush".

Thank you Donie for your leadership, your mentorship and your friendship in cycling.
May you continue your minding of us Donie from above and May you cycle beside all of us in the club, from the golden roads of heaven. Rest in peace.
