On behalf of Waterford Co Museum I would like to extend my sincere condolences to Ada and Donald's family on his passing. Donal worked for a number of years in the museum when we were in the Old Market House. He was a co author of the museum publication Desperate Haven, which recorded the Famine in Dungarvan Union, published in 1996. He generously donated an important collection of glass slides of local images taken by the Brenan family of photographers to the museum.
He had an encyclopedic knowledge of history and a great general knowledge.
