I knew Donal from our days in the Curragh in the late 1960's. In 1980 Donal kindly ensured that I was properly kitted out for my call to the Bar. We were colleagues and friends for very many years since. He was a true gentleman and great company. Deepest sympathy to Sheelagh, Carl, Mary, his grandchildren and extended family and friends. May Donal's gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Sincere condolences. My father made Captain Egan’s uniforms and I appeared many times before him in the Refugee Appeals Tribunal where he insisted I called him sir. A thorough gentleman.

I am so sorry to hear that my "old" friend Donnie has passed away. When I say "old" I mean that we were great friends 60 years ago when we were both adult part-time students at Kings Inns studying law and had great fun trying to get the better of each other by testing each other's knowledge of case law. He had a fantastic memory and I rarely caught him out. We continued our friendship through tennis and squash at Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in the late 1960's after we were called to the Bar when he demonstrated his great competitive sporting spirit. We met occasionally after that as our lives went in different ways, but whenever we met, we shared those treasured memories with laughter and great joy. Sincere sympathy. May he rest in Peace. Henry Murdoch FLTC
