Donal looked after his parents,worked hard in the piggery I don't know how he had time for all the matches,
He put together a lovely book about Killian on his sporting career we are so proud of. We had great night's playing cards and you will be missed. Every Tuesday morning we had the Lotto results and we can't forget the lovely strawberries Until we meet again slan

He was a true gentleman and it was a pleasure and a privilege to have known him and called him a friend. Everyone was a friend of Donal’s and he had time for all. We will miss his visits to our home for a cup of tea and a chat and of course the famous strawberries during the summer. We enjoyed many a trip in his blue Toyota Corolla to many matches all over the county. The highlight of each journey was the banter and conversation in the car. Donal was an earlier version of Google Maps, always knowing the shortest route distance and time it would take to get to the match venue. For many of the Ibane Gaels fixtures, these would have been new destinations.

Rest easy Donal, we will never forget you.

My deepest sympathy to all the Holland family and Donald's many good friends. I met Donal the first night I arrived in Clonakilty nearly thirty years ago when he asked me if I would join in, in playing darts Double's. They were short a player and I was standing at the counter in Bernie's Bar. What a great guy to have met up with. I remained friends with Donal for the next eight years or so when I lived in Clon. Great sense of humour and he loved the Cork ,Kerry banter we enjoyed. A good friend and a great listener,always having a good word to say about everybody. I always enjoyed meeting up with Donal whenever I got a chance to call back to Clon since. He loved telling stories and listening back to all the fun we had many years ago. Whenever I think of Clon in the years since I can see Donal in the middle of his friends laughing and smiling. Rest in peace my friend.

My heart was very much in Barryroe last weekend with sadness at the premature passing of my old pal Donal Holland who I knew since he started school in 1973. Donal had immense and varied talent, a hard worker, a great sense of humour, a good GAA man and loyal to family and friends. Barryroe won’t be the same without him.
