Donal KEANE

It was alway a pleasure to see Donal sweeping in and dumping his "wig bag" and piles of papers and books on his seat opposite mine, on the days work took him to Dublin. Donal's wide ranging interests and down to earth personality made him a wonderful conversationalist. He could laugh at himself and situations and poke fun at the absurd in a way that was always gentle, hilarious and quintessentially and uniquely Donal. More than anything else I enjoyed listening to Donal talking about his passions - horses, farming, the countryside, country pubs, sport and so on but most of all his family. Donal's pre-mature death is a loss to the legal world but the greatest loss is to Donal's family. My sincere sympathy to Donal's family on the loss of the wonderful human being that was Donal.

My sincere sympathies to Frédérique, Pauline, John & Marie. Donal was a wonderful kind person, such a terrible loss for all of you. May he rest in peace.

Shocked and saddened by Donals sudden passing. My sincere condolences to his wife and family. I had the pleasure of working alongside Donal in a trial as recently as November last in Letterkenny, and found myself in his company over lunch on a number of occassions during that period, where he spoke passionately about his family, his organic farm and his work. Maeve, our sincerest condolences to you and your family on the sudden death of your brother Donal. We only heard of his untimely death today and were so shocked. We have very good memories of meeting Donal and Frederique in Adare over 20 years ago when we all attended Lorcan and Judy O'Brien's wedding. Donal was fascinating and so full of good humour. As the years moved on his reputation as an excellent and generous Counsel was well known. He is an enormous loss to his wife and children. May Donal rest in eternal peace.
