Donal was a true friend who we met while working in Jamaica, We will never forget the compassion, fun and laughter on the many occasions he visited us. In Donal's true spirit, he was soo supportive to us when we relocated back to Ireland, and welcomed us to your beautiful home in Bettystown.

I got to know Donal at the College of Marketing & Design back in the 80's and we ended up sharing a flat in London for a number of years. Those years were fun filled and we established a great friendship. I will miss Donal very much and will cherish his memory. He was kind, gentle, great fun, a great listener and a wise counsellor. RIP.

Sad to see such a lovely guy leave us. In a recent email Donal told me he thought of me as a fellow Meathman at the College of Marketing where we both studied back in the early 1980s. I was touched by that.
One of my memories of Donal at college is that he often had a novel sticking out of his pocket, and I liked that about him.

I played junior golf with Donal in the 60s with weekly lessons from Bobby Browne. We also studied together in COMAD. In the late 80s we sometimes met in London. He was such a fun guy and great company. He will be missed by many.

I heard the sad news from a friend, Sean Meehan,. Donal was a class mate at the College Of Marketing., and was one of the good guys.
I realize how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the memories of time with Donal. I pray the our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement and leave you only the cherished memories of the loved and lost.. Try to remember what made Donal laugh, and you will smile.
