I was very saddened to learn of Donal's tragic death. What a gent that guy was! The fact that I never actually had the pleasure of meeting Donal face to face, is a testament to his gregarious nature. I only ever dealt with Donal professionally by phone and emails, but our dealings invariably turned into a friendly chat. I had great time for Donal and he will be missed. My sincere condolences to Donal's family, friends and colleagues.

Today we said our heartfelt good byes to our buddy Donal. It was so evident how his sudden passing has broken the hearts of so so many. Yes we all question why ? To that we have no reply. Karen, Donal Og, Bobby and Aoife you gave your wonderful Husband and Dad his last farewell concert, with simplicity and reverence and above all the love and respect he so deserved. It was perfect. To the O’Keeffe family and the O’Donovan family, to all his work colleagues, to his cycling buddies to his GAA colleagues and wider circle of friends we will grieve his passing in many different ways, but we will never forget him. We were all lucky to have know him.
May his gentle young Soul now Rest in Peace.
