Sincere sympathy to Mary & Michael, brother-in-law James, sister-in-law Liz, nephews Stephen, Shane, Robbie, niece Laura, grandnephew Valentine and the extended O'Sullivan & Fehilly families, neighbours and friends. I was very sorry to hear of Donals unexpected death. I fondly remember my visits to the family home in Butlerstown when I was growing up, which seems like yesterday. It may have been when I called to get Willie to fix my bike or maybe when I called with mam to visit Eily or perhaps it was while on the way home from strawberry picking with Michael or maybe I just dropped in on way home from Butlerstown. There was always a warm welcome and a cup of tea on offer. Donal was quiet but mischievous at the same time. I know he fought to be independent for a long time. Mary you were a wonderful sister to him and took on the task to taking care of him when it was needed and he definitely appreciated it. Mary & Mike I'm sure you all have some wonderful memories of him and these will keep him alive in your hearts. He will also be missed by many friends and colleagues as is obvious from the many warm condolences. His suffering is now over and he is most certainly in heaven with his Mam and Dad. Sincere sympathy to Mary and Michael and the extended O'Sullivan family on Donal's passing. I got to know Donal from our Sunday trips on the bike around the highways and byways of West Cork. I joined the group late and Donal was most welcoming. He was a quiet, unassuming and gentle character. While he was an avid cyclist his favorite time was the "Tea Stop". Donal revelled in the chat and banter and his conversations often ended with laughter.
Safe pedalling in the sky, it was an honour to share the road with you.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
