He was a valued member of our Cumann for many years, and travelled many miles during local and general election campaigns when Cionnaith and Paul Hayes were candidates in West Cork.
Donal was an unashamed and proud Irish Republican who yearned to see a United Ireland. He stated his ideas and opinions proudly and confidently.
We were honoured to know him and thank him and you his family for his company and the good times we shared with him.

Our sincere sympathy to Mary, Cionnaith, Gilbert and the extended O'Sullivan family on the sad passing of Donal. He was a great community man and possessed many talents of which he gave most generously. Donal played a prominent role in the 1798 bi-centennial commemoration in Clonakilty and Darrara parishes back in 1997 and 1998. He was the brains behind the restoration of Tadhg an Asna's birthplace and old homestead in the townland of Lackenalooha in the summer of 1998 and also of the erection of a memorial gravestone at Tadhg's resting place in Ballintemple graveyard in that same year.
