Only heard the sad news of Donal's passing when visiting West Cork yesterday. A great neighbour and friend in Montenotte Park when I lived there from the 1950s to the 1980s. My deepest sympathy to Peig and all the family at this very sad time.

It was with such sadness that I heard of Donal’s passing. He was a welcoming presence on Sherkin when we came here many years ago and continued in valued friendship, always with time to chat and exchange news. He held a special place in our hearts and will continue to do so.
