Don never walked into a room -he bounded in, and he bounded into my life in Pembroke Street in 1982 where General Motors had their HQ . He made a wonderful contribution to the Opel brand in Ireland working with both Reg Armstrong and then Opel Ireland . He was a great ad man but his people skills and personality made him a PR natural and it was in this role that I learnt most from him . His boundless energy and optimism marked him out as a unique business person but his greatest devotion was always to his three girls in "Green Acres " to whom we extend our deepest condolences .Tikity boo Don.

It is very many years since I worked with Donald in Brindley Adv. Donald and I worked together on accounts such as Quinnsworth and Honda Motorcycles. I learned a great deal about Advertising as Donald was a pure Ad man. He knew instinctively what would work for his clients.

Sincere sympathy to you, Eileen, Nicola, Dominique, and all the family. Don was a wonderful, old-school gentleman, and very welcoming to me as a rookie motoring journalist in 2001. He always was smiling or laughing, but never at the expense of total professionalism, I loved the fact that everything in his world always was tickettyboo, a saying he easily could have trademarked! My memories of him will be nothing but fond. May he rest in peace.

Dearest Eileen, Don was a true gentleman and a breath of light into every room. He was a wonderful colleague and friend to me; indeed he was the only familiar face when I started in Opel and he continued to mentor me throughout my career there. We were fortunate to continue to meet you in Supervalu when I moved on, and again I loved the happy chats. You were blessed with a husband who adrored you, and the girls were his pride and joy. I know that Don had not had it easy in recent years and you were his strength and his guide. My deepest condolenes to you all on the sad passing of your treasured Donald. Margaret.
