To all the Macaulay Family, I would like to add my condolences on your loss.

I too had the pleasure of serving on the Sandford Park School Union with Don for over 20 years.

He always kept us in check and made sure that everything was correctly done.

He is now journeying on to his eternal reward.

May the road rise up to meet him
May the wind always be at his back.
May the sun shine warm upon his face; the rains fall soft upon his fields
and until we meet again, May God hold him in the palm of His hand.

With sincere sympathies.

Conor Keoghan
Sandford Union Past President.

I have fond memories of him in the wool business
The Wool Federation Dinners in Wynns Hotel were always great with Don organising same to perfection
I also met him many times at Portmarnock Golf Club

Most of all he was a true gentleman
Rest in peace Don
Sincere sympathy to Ann and family on the death of Donald. Thinking of you all at this sad time
I had the pleasure of meeting Don through the Sandford Park Past Pupils Union. He was a charming and interesting man. He was incredibly helpful and committed, nothing was too much for Don. I really appreciated his support and counsel. He was engaging and a wonderful storyteller. I always looked forward to meeting Don as I knew he would impart a nugget of information.

He proudly represented Sandford Park on the ASU for may years. He was a wonderful ambassador for the school and the Union. He will be missed.
My condolences to Don’s family on his passing. I had the pleasure of playing golf with and against him in Portmarnock. He was a formidable opponent especially when he had Gerry O’Brien in his corner. A true gentleman. May he rest in peace.
My deep sympathy to Ann, the family and the extended family on the passing of Donald. I was saddened to hear the news as he will be greatly missed by the Indoor Bowling Association.
We will all miss you, Condolences to family in Ireland. We love you.
Our deepest sympathies to Ann and the Macauley family.

Don was a lovely gentleman and always had the most cheerful smile and greeting on a Sunday morning. He was interested in everything that was going on and in the people around him. We will miss him deeply.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Barbara, Dermot and Daria.
Sincere sympathy to you Ann.
Don left Sandford Park School in 1949 and was a member of the Past Pupils' Union committee for many, many years.
He spent a large proportion of these years as Hon. Golf Secretary. He was our representative on the ASU (Association of Schools’ Unions) for a similarly long spell.
A stickler for protocol, he kept the Union on the "straight and narrow”, particularly with regard to the proprieties associated with the Annual Dinner.
He will be missed.
Sincere condolences to the Macaulay family on the passing of Don.

He was the most loyal and dedicated Senior Cup and Barton Shield caddy/supporter who travelled the length and breadth of the Country to support our Club. He provided some of the funniest moments at various matches with his frank assessment of our play but his support was unwavering.
In recent years, when he couldn't come along, his absence has been mentioned innumerable times by various players, as you'd miss the excited handshake and wish of good luck on the first tee, or wherever on the course he first encountered you.

May he rest in peace.
Very sorry to read this sad news.
Deepest sympathies Jane and all your families.
