I have great memories of Donie when he used to come in to our chemist shop in Ardfert many years ago. He was always in good humour, always smiling and we always had great chats.

Growing up with Damien as one of my best friends, I got to see first hand what a loving ,caring & gentle Husband and Dad Donie was, He always made me feel welcome at their home and taking me to Kerry Football games with Damien,
One time comes to mind, when my father got me a late ticket for Hill 16 and with the supporters Bus already being full Donie asked if they would put a stool in the Aisle of the bus so I could fit in, something small but something I will never forget,
