I have never worked with a more genuine gentle caring person. She was a true lady and an inspiration to all she worked with. Her spirit will live on in her wonderful girls. Dear Mark, Mia, Isabelle, Hannah, Josie, William and Mary,
I am heartbroken to hear of the untimely passing of your adored and beautiful, my treasured colleague, Dora.
I can only echo the sentiments and true feelings of Shelley, recited here in Book of Condolence. I too, taught with Dora but only for a very treasured year in Killaloe, her positive impact is and remains amazing. I, and many parents, remember her professionalism, passion, compassion and her loveliness to staff, pupils, parents and all she encountered in Killaloe.
Elaine, who is now PD in Killaloe Boys’ NS, speaks of her legacy, that generosity of teacher and teaching spirit.
Mark, you know only too well that you were lucky to meet the lovely Dora. It is said, ‘Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
To you girls, her loved daughters, Mam is always with you and forever. Talk to her and talk often. She will always be with you, your love transcends that physical and its passing. You are united in love, heart and soul for eternity.
Thinking of all hearts broken, the extended McMahon and Curley families are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time also.
