Dear Doris was our neighbour, living in the house beside,
From Birmingham to Meelick, in the home she built with pride.
Now Foncie was from Limerick, and after many years away,
She brought him back, not far from his old home,
Thats where they came to stay.
As a neighbour, she was friendly, and straight, she spoke her mind,
About how she made her way in life, even when things they wern't kind.
With Doris, she told it as it was, and not afraid to speak,
And when she needed something done,
She was as tough as teak.
She loved her family dearly, and wanted best for them
And cared for each and every one,
Speaking of them again and again.
Now Doris will be missed by us, for she was welcome in our door,
Were sorry to know that on this earth, we'll be seeing her no more.
Now soon this earth t'will be no more,
And I'm to Heaven bound
My wife and I hope we'll be seeing, Doris Price there safe and sound.
