Do mo chara Norman agus Muintir Gray uilig,
Bhí an-bhrón orm cloisteáil faoi bhás tobann do dheirfiúr Dorothy. Bhí mé thar lear ag an am agus ní fhéadfainn a bheith ag a sochraid. Tá cuimhne álainn agam uair gur bhuail mé léi i gCaifé Gray, sna Clocha Liath, lá go ndearnamar an siúlóid ó Bré. Chuir mé mé féin in aithne di agus bhí áthas uirthi. Nuair a luaigh mé go raibh aithne ag ár ndeartháireacha ar a chéile le breis agus 40 bliain, bhí sí thar a bheith sásta, agus d’fhág a cineáltas tionchar buan orm. Táim an-bhuíoch as an deis a bhí agam labhairt leí an lá sin.
Mo chomhbhrón ó chroí leatsa Norman agus le do theaghlach uilig le linn an ama dheacair seo.
Suaimhneas síoraí dá hanam uasal

Dorothy reminded us that she packed so much into her life. She and I had an easy, caring friendship. I loved her humour, her healthy outlook on life & on people, her morals, her decency. Go in peace & in brightness Dorothy

Dear Alan and Norman,
What a beautiful service we attended in Mount Jerome, a true celebration of Dorothy’s life.
How you must miss her.
Fíonán made many excuses to visit Greystones, but his real destination was Café Gray to enjoy a coffee and a chat with Dorothy.
I am quite sure she will be smiling down and guiding you both always.

There will be plenty of lovely smaointe for you to both laugh and sometimes cry about.

To Alan and Caroline and your extended family, may I offer my heartfelt condolences to you all, on the sudden loss of Dorothy from your lives. She was such a beautiful and kind lady with a gentle smile for everyone. She was a great support to me over past few years in my career endeavours. She was always so friendly to meet at the Whale and we always felt so welcomed there. I used to meet her regularly on her/my walks down by the pier. I was so shocked to hear the news. She is one of those people - quiet, unassuming, humble, gentle, never looking for the limelight but boy ..what a huge gap she will leave in everyone's life. I hope you will get some comfort in the memories you share but in the meantime please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. With sincere condolences.
Dear Norman,
Jill and I offer you our sincerest condolences on the loss of your beloved sister Dorothy.
As we know having lost a son, two brothers, a sister and a brother-in-law, the sundering of our life‘s bonds and relationship is very difficult to handle. But great friends will help one get through it.
The memory of the life she led, the people she affected by her generosity and kindness will live beyond her and will be a joy to all who had the honour of knowing her and sharing her karma.
We are acutely aware of your generosity and kindness to us when Robert died, so it is with joy
and love that we offer you the same affection and support.
You were not only a dear brother but also a best friend and appreciative of the fact that she was such a kind and generous soul who offered time, affection and understanding to those who needed it and will be well remembered for that. To quote one of her friends “We are all thankful she had time to live amongst us.”
No more needs to be said.
May her warm, generous and thoughtful soul rest in a richly deserved peace and may you her family find consolation in the memories of her life where lived.
Heartfelt thoughts, Norman.

Greystones has lost one of its very special persons. As have all her family and friends here and overseas. Since she made our town her home Dorothy threw herself into making it a much better place. She was the founding Hon Sec and director of Greystones 2020 back in 2016 later morphing into the Town Team. Her dedication to make our town a better place was unceasing and selfless - from Cafe Gray, to the Whale Dorothy symbolised goodness, care, a smile and friendship. We are all thankful she had time to live amongst us.
Shocked at the news. We were very fond of Dorothy. Everybody was. May she rest peacefully.
We were very saddened to hear of Dorothy's sudden death.
Deepest condolences to Norman, Alan, Caroline and all the Gray family who will miss her so much.

THERE IS NO DEATH
RESURGAM
There is no death! The stars go down
To rise upon some other shore,
And bright in heaven’s jeweled crown
They shine for evermore.
Time is no death! The dust we tread
Shall change beneath the summer showers
To golden grain, or mellow fruit,
Or rainbow-tinted flowers.
And ever near us, though unseen,
The dear immortal spirits tread;
For all the boundless universe
Is life—there are no dead!
