My best friend for over fifty years. A rare person with a heart of gold. We were colleagues and shared many interests and he taught me tennis bringing me up to class 5 with humour and kindness. He stood by me in moments of crisis. For me Dublin will not be the same without him.. I saw him in June and we spent time eating apple pie and drinking coffee i shall miss him and will never forget him. My condolences to Patrick.
Deepest sympathy to the Browne family on the sad passing of Brendan.R.I.P. From
all his friends in LTC.
Brendan was a really nice person who was always in good humour. A very good tennis player and we had many enjoyable games together in Elm Park. Sadly his health was not good for the past few years but he was always cheerful whenever we met. May he now rest in peace
My deepest sympathy to the Browne family on the sad passing of Brendan.
He was a true gentleman and I had the pleasure of knowing Brendan in Lansdowne
And Elm Park. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
One of the all time greats, I first met Brendan on the football field in Pat's during 1950 and later in Elm Park and Lansdowne LTC. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Rest in peace Brendan.
A great Sportsman, Academic, and above all, an absolute Gentleman.
Sincere sympathies to the Browne family.
Sincere condolences to the Browne family on the sad passing of Brendan. He was a gentleman and a very talented tennis player. I will miss Brendan's laughter. May he rest in peace.
Sincere sympathy to the Browne clan on Brendan's passing. I remember him as a gentleman and a hardworking colleague. He was usually covered in chalk after a lecture. He never spared himself. May he rest in peace.
Patrick, please accept my sincere sympathy at the death of Brendan. He was a great friend. May he and our mutual friend, Michael O’Farrell, rest in peace. I watched the funeral Mass on the Webcam and was delighted at how well your son spoke about Brendan. May God comfort all of you at your loss. With every good wish. Fr. Michael Cooke
Deepest sympathy to Patrick, Molly, Kevin and Yolanda on the death of Brendan. May the light of Heaven shine on him. A friend for over 45 years. Friendly. funny, happy. gentle and a gentleman. and his kindness knew no bounds. He was a great raconteur, so full of knowledge about such a wide variety of subjects. He was always so concerned about his students who valued his lectures so much. He loved his tennis and was a very valued member in Elm Park for years. Golf was not his forte as he would say himself.!! A very proud Cavan man. Rest in peace Brendan after a life well lived and loved by many.
So sorry to hear of Brendan’s death. A true gentleman. May he rest in peace.
Patrick, so sorry to hear the sad news. So many happy memories of Brendan growing up in Cavan. Whether on the football field the tennis courts or the teenage hops, Brendan was always a joy to be around .

Brendan was such a gentleman. I was fortunate to know him in Landowne LTC. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Brendan was delightful person to know. I had the pleasure of studying with him at Kevin street for many years. Very good lecturer , deep expertise. Sad
My deepest sympathy to Patrick, Molly, Kevin & Yolanda. Our families go back many years on St Helen’s Rd. and I especially remember Brendan’s kindness to my mother during her long illness. He was a kind, interesting and super intelligent gentleman. I am very sorry I’ll miss his funeral because I’ll be travelling back from the UK at that time. But I’ll be thinking of you and will always remember Brendan very fondly.

I first met Brendan at UCD about 60 years ago and have enjoyed his friendship and enthusiasm for life ever since. He was a wonderful and warm person. I will really miss him. Sincere sympathy to Patrick and all Brendan's Family
I was very sorry to learn of Brendan’s death. He was a most popular member of Elm Park Club - tennis and golf - for many years, and we all loved him. His friends continued to visit him over the long years he was in Our Lady’s Manor
and he enjoyed their visits and news of the Club.
Dr Browne was a brilliant mathematician and lecturer and thousands of engineer and scientist graduates of Kevin St College and TCD will vouch for that. He was so proud of his Cavan roots and that he played minor football for them.
Deepest sympathy to Brendan's family on the sad occasion of his passing. We had some great times in Elm Park and on trips to Banbridge for the bi-annual tennis match. May he continue playing on the heavenly courts!
Although in care for the last years of his life, everyone on St Helen's Road who knew Brendan remembers him as a kind and gentle man, quiet spoken but always interested, a champion tennis player, a not-as-good golfer! Despite the decline in the quality of his life in recent years, we still miss him as our next door neighbour. We send our condolences and best wishes to Patrick, Kevin and all who mourn him. P&C
