Sincere condolences on Brendan's passing. I remember as kids Brendan playing with us neighbours in Dodder Park road . As a GP he had that exceptional quality of empathy kindness and an innate lability to put people at ease. Taken too soon..
Deepest condolences to the Heaney family and to Dr. Brendan’s wide circle of friends. I was shocked to hear of his untimely death when he should be enjoying a long and well-deserved retirement. He was my GP for 20 years and I always valued his wise counsel and caring manner. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Dear Marie and Liam. Sincere sympathy on the loss of your dear brother Brendan. Also, the recent loss of your dear brother Tony.
Through the Cronin family from Terenure, we know that Brendan was a well respected GP.
Our parents John and Maura were friends with your own parents Bill and Winnie. In addition, there was the connection by marriage through our late Aunt Lizzy.
May Brendan and Tony rest in peace.
Condolences to the extended Heaney family on Brendan's passing.

While I only had a very few brief encounters with Brendan on a professional basis, I must say that he was a very pleasant person and doctor to deal with in my time of need - he is such a big loss to us all in society.

In the event that my memory serves me correctly, I must say that Brendan was very proud of his Kerry ancestors in view that he would have remembered to mention that his Sullivan grandmother was from Kerry originally (we're obviously sharing the same genes going back through the generations in view that my own grandmother was also a Sullivan in Kerry).

You may now rest in peace Brendan.

Kerry native.

We all loved and respected him. He was always kind, patient and gentle and gave so much time to all of his patients. We had many an interesting conversation on the issues of the day. Nothing will fill the hole created by the loss of Brendan. I’ve known him from a young age as both our families ran shops in Terenure. We became the best of pals when we worked together in the Hoop Bar in Notting Hill during the summer of 1975. Brendan graduated a few years later and the rest is history. My world has changed with his untimely death. He was a kind and loyal friend and I will miss him dearly. How lucky I am for having known him so well. Deepest sympathies to Liz, Sarah, Liam, Theresa, Marie, Jimmy, Jim, John, Fiona and the extended Heaney family having lost Tony and Brendan. Gone, but not from our hearts or memories.

I too have fond memories of playing football with Brendan on Dodder Park Road when it was safe and weather permitting, and in Dodder and Orwell Parks (and of sampling the surrounding orchards). Very sad to hear of his untimely passing. Rest in peace old friend.
Sincere condolences on the sad, sudden loss of Brendan. I met him at the O`Connell Schools reunion in 2022 after 50 years separation and was instantly taken back to the friendship my brother Kevin and I enjoyed with him all those years ago. The years rolled away and it was like old times. It was lovely to spend time in his company again. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
We are very deeply saddened to learn of dear Brendan’s untimely passing. My sadness has been somewhat tempered over the last few weeks by very happy memories of trips abroad with Brendan and his close friends which have made me smile.I renewed contact with Brendan over the last 12 months and was so looking forward to travelling with him again in his well earned retirement. It is difficult to write these words because in doing so I know I am saying goodbye to Bren who has been a great friend for over 50 years. Best man at our wedding, Godfather to our daughter. Fellow traveller on the road of life along which we shared so much fun and so many adventures.
A fount of knowledge and wisdom. Steady hand. Strategic thinker. Slightly cynical smile. Gentle nature.
Your departure will leave a deep void in our lives which can never be filled
Go easy my friend

Memories of Dodder Park Road are again flooding back to me as the Heaney and Walker families were close neighbours that were there for each other.
Bren and my brother Michael were great pals, as young boys they would spend hours playing on the floor with their dinky toy cars. Bren was a gentle soul and sincere and unassuming.
Fiona and John have lost their two Uncles so quickly but just remember your Uncle Tony and Uncle Brendan adored you both.

Marie and Liam , To loose two very much loved brothers in such a short time is truly heartbreaking for you both. Just take comfort in that Brendan made the world a better place with his caring role as a Doctor in general practice. You were the brainy family in our close neighbourhood but you were also the kind of family who made good confidants and friends.

Our families have been intertwined for seven decades and we grieve your loss also .
To Liz and the extended family my sincere sympathies .
May Brendan rest in peace..
