Catherine was a very welcoming person, when I arrived at the old Vocational School, in Langford Street as a Rural Science Teacher. We had good chats about items of mutual interest. She was a realy lovely person.

I knew her through climbing with the Laune mountaineering club, and she was most knowledgeable and helpful, with her experience and skills on the mountains. She wad fiercely independent however, though she was glad of my help when she literally was blown 3 ft off the ground, on a windy day on top of Caherconree. I managed to catch her in time. I worked with Catherine in Klinge for many years, and I found her to have a quiet and patient personality. Her commitment to safety in industry and in the workplace was always to the fore. For many years she fielded teams from the company to compete in safety quizzes at national level. In later years it was always great to meet and chat with Catherine , as she travelled about in Killorglin.
